The ELDT curriculum is broken into two parts, both of which are taught by qualified instructors.
You will build a foundation of essential knowledge covering everything from basic vehicle operation and pre-trip inspections to advanced safety procedures, trip planning, and Hours of Service regulations. You must demonstrate proficiency by passing a final assessment with a score of 80% or higher.
Once the theory portion is complete, you will move to our training yard and public roads. Here, under the direct supervision of an instructor, you will master the practical skills of operating a commercial vehicle. There is no minimum number of hours; you will train until you demonstrate proficiency in all required skills.

Training providers must submit certification information to FMCSA by midnight of the second business day after training is completed. The licensing state must be able to access that information before you take the applicable skills or knowledge test.
