Class B CDL training prepares students for qualifying single vehicles, including straight trucks, buses, and delivery vehicles. A Class B CDL applies to any single vehicle with a GVWR or GVW of 26,001 pounds or more, or such a vehicle towing a vehicle with a GVWR or GVW of 10,000 pounds or less. Passenger and School Bus endorsements are regular offerings. Hazardous Materials, Tank Vehicle, Doubles/Triples, and Combination endorsements are available by request.
Passenger endorsement training supports preparation to operate vehicles designed to transport passengers, subject to applicable requirements.
School Bus endorsement training supports preparation for school bus operation, subject to applicable requirements.
Class B holders can also add a HazMat endorsement for specialized local delivery roles.
Endorsements are optional add-ons after you earn your Class B — not required to enroll.

The Class B program includes 40 hours of CLP preparation and 120 hours of practical training. Calendar duration varies based on scheduling and individual progress. Day sessions are standard; evening and weekend sessions are available by arrangement.
Class B roles may include local delivery, transit, construction, and municipal-service driving. Employment assistance is available. Employment is not guaranteed.
ELDT stands for Entry-Level Driver Training. Drivers subject to ELDT requirements must complete applicable training with a provider listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry before taking certain CDL skills or knowledge tests. Smart CDL Academy is listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry for Class B training.
