Class A CDL License in Texas – Drive the Big Rigs
A Class A Commercial Driver’s License allows you to drive any combination of vehicles with a Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of 26,001 lbs. or more, provided the towed vehicle is over 10,000 lbs.

Requirements for a Class A CDL in Texas
To qualify for a Class A CDL in Texas, you must:
Be at least 18 years old (21 for interstate driving)
Hold a valid Texas driver’s license
Pass a DOT physical and drug screening
Get your Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP)
Complete ELDT training from a registered provider
Pass the Texas CDL skills test (pre-trip, range, road)
